Mosquito-man rushing up!
In a battle against the mosquitoes spreading largely in the entire city of Kolkata, the mosquito-man from the city corporation is exhibiting more agility in order to combat the growing mosquito population resulting in a spread of mosquito-born diseases like Malaria, in some case Dengo and even traces of Malignant Malaria.
Last night, when we were watching the soccer battle between Jermany and Costarica in the World Cup tie, our neighbour came up and told that her son, still in his teen, got attacked with Malignant Malaria and was on Medical attention for over last seven days.
It was a strange news for all of us because in this old-Kolkata where we take note of happenings of our neighbours and earn a lot of fame for being co-operative at times of crisis of our fellow men, we were absolutely ignorant of this incident.
Though the teenager managed to fight out the battle with the help of intime medical attention from State Hospital and got cured completely.
Just now, when i was planning to make some new posts in different websites that i publish, the mosquito-man appeared from the local corporation office. Being informed by the State Hospital, they indeed rushed up to the spot to spray “OIL” for killing mosquito and at the same time locating spots which offer a free breeding space for Falsipherum.
Earlier, couple of months ago, we had a steep water crisis and our fellow neighbours used to store water in buckets for future use. It was a practice to keep storing water even for couple of days to meet up a crisis that would take place so often.
As stored fresh water is just the right spot for breeding of Plasmodiam Falsipherum , theĀ one responsible for Malignant Malaria, it was not surprising that Mosquitoes got a place to fly, play and populate for FREE.
Now the water crisis is over, but the habit prevails, and offers just the same comfort for the mosquitoes to breed as it would do few months ago.
Mosquito-man has spotted out few reserve stores of water, containing stagnant clean water and advised to empty those containers each three days.
But it is a common experience that people often tends to ignore such directive that directly attack there age-old practices despite being marked as a serious offence as per the present laws.
However, it is nice to see such a prompt response from the local administration who has just done the right thing to combat spread of mosquitoes and awakening people’s awareness.
The spraying of mosquito oil has just finished and normalcy is restored, now let us see, how far our neighbours are eager to take a lesson from the incident.
STOP! THINK! CHECK! ACT! =>> Fight Mosquitoes Out
Your little attention may give us a mosquito free world!
